I am honored to be able to educate,
inspire and empower you on you journey through motherhood. I hope you find
the same great pride and joy in being a mother as I do.
With the birth of my first child, Santino, a passion inside
of me was born. I realized the calling I had been searching for. My passion
is childbirth and motherhood. While pregnant with my second child, Maya, I
began on my path towards birthing empowerment. I started an extensive six
month Doula training course with Loving Hands Maternity Services, upon
completion, I was a certified a Pregnancy, Labor, and Postpartum Doula. I
then went on to complete Miami Dade Community College's Childbirth Educators
course and started teaching Birth Empowerment™. During the pregnancy of my third child, Gianni, I started a Holistic Moms Network Chapter in Miami, FL
so that the women in our community would have a "tribe" to turn to when they
need support. Immediately following the birth of our 4th child, Ayla, we
moved to Canfield, Ohio, where my husband grew up. Knowing the community, we
wanted our children to experience living in a small town. I instantly knew
what challenges I faced as an "alternitive" person. Once we settled in, I
knew the only way I could meet like minded moms was to, once again, start a Holistic Moms Network. Sometimes the only way to find your tribe is to start
one. "If you build it, they will com." With the pregnancy of
our 5th baby Leonardo, I was once again inspired. I
felt such a strong calling to start midwifery study with Ancient Art
Midwifery Institute. My goal is to be the first Direct Entry Midwife in the
Youngstown area (unless we are blessed with one before I am done with my
training).
I believe it is my destiny to provide education, guide
towards empowerment and give
emotional support to women with pregnancy, labor, postpartum, breastfeeding
and mothering. My approach is holistic. I believe in the spirit of pregnancy
and motherhood. Every woman has their own intuition and it is my roll as a
Doula/CBE/Student Midwife to encourage her to follow her natural instincts.
It is also my belief that every woman should be given the
opportunity to give birth in it’s purest form; into loving hands, in a
soothing environment and without drugs or interventions. Although this is my
belief, I respect and support the personal decision of the mother to choose
the birthing style that she is most comfortable with.
With the support of my husband Jason, a chiropractic
physician, of the Marucci Wellness Center, I also educate parents about
vaccines, nutrition, and wellness. (Again, we respect the personal decisions
of all parents.)
