Blessingway Packages

A blessingway is a traditional American Indian ceremony marking the transition from one stage of life to another. Holding a blessingway ceremony for a pregnant woman is a unique way to celebrate her passage through the childbearing year and provide her with spiritual encouragement as she prepares for her transition into motherhood. Rather than showering her unborn child with gifts, it is a time for a mother’s friends and kinwomen to cater to her spiritual needs by reminding her, through a variety of rituals, of the generations of women who have gone before her into childbirth, of woman’s inherent strength and ability to birth her children and of the spiritual, emotional and physical support that is available to her during this significant Rite of Passage.

     Our Blessingway Ceremony

     $200 (due upon booking of the event)

• Invitations for up to 10 guests

• Set up 30 minutes prior to the ceremony

• Facilitation of your Ceremony

• Any THREE following rituals

• Light refreshments for up to 10 guests (any THREE of the menu items below)

• Clean-up following the event

Candle Garden

We will build a "garden" of candles from each of the guests as a visual reminder to the mother of the love and encouragement that surrounds her

 

Unity in Birthing Necklace

We will create a necklace for the mother with beads from each guest to symbolize and act as a tangible reminder of the strength of our shared experiences as mothers and women

 

Floral Coronet and Hair Brushing

Symbolic of an offering of service and preparing the mother for a journey through the childbearing year (coronet is a keepsake)

 

Foot and Hand Bathing

An herbal foot and hand bath, also symbolic of an offering of service and of preparing the mother for her journey through the childbearing year

 

Birth Art

A Birthing From Within-based activity in which the guests will create "birthing tools" to symbolize and serve as a reminder to the mother of the interconnected strength of birthing women, and of the support she has available to her in friends and kinwomen
